I’m planning to call my friend Simon in Prague, this weekend. He was Art Director and my first boss on a newspaper called Prognosis in Prague in the early nineties. I’m hoping that he’ll be able to photograph Privvi for me on Charles Bridge. My memories of that bridge are very precious and I’ve walked across it many times in all weathers. Prague’s my favourite city in the world, even though it has changed considerably since then. At that time it was a particularly diverse, exciting and dynamic place to be culturally and artistically.
After I’d finished my degree in Graphic Design I managed to get a job on Prognosis which, at the time, was run by a group of graduates from the University of Santa Barbara. I didn’t have anywhere to live but I got on a flight to Prague with one bag with all my things in it. After a week in a hotel I managed to find a flat share. My experience went from there and I had the most amazing time and met some brilliant people. After that I went to Budapest and to San Francisco but that’s another story.
Hoping I can send Privvi to Prague but I really wish it was me going.
